is fairness extinct in corporate america?


how does my company reward good work? with higher goals without higher pay… which is why my individual new credit account goal is 50% of my dept.’s goal (and the other 50% is split between 2 people, 1 of which is a recently appointed lead salesperson), twice as much as the women’s dept. and three times as much as the men’s dept. i talked to the store mgr and he said that i should be happy about having a higher goal and that i should think of it as a compliment and a pat on the back from the company in recognition of my good work! also, i have heard from several co-workers and members of management that the annual raises my company bestows upon their employees are usually in the $0.10 – $0.18 per hour range which is really insulting and not motivating at all…
